NEF Welcomes Amr Nosseir to Board of Directors

New York, NY (October 18, 2012) — The Near East Foundation is pleased to announce that Amr Nosseir has joined its Board of Directors. He was elected today in a unanimous vote of the Board.

Mr. Nosseir is a Founding Partner of Perella Weinberg Partners and is responsible for the firm’s business activities in the Middle East and firm relationships with a select group of founding investors. His client responsibilities include major corporations and family controlled companies in the Arab world, as well as many of the Middle East’s Ministries of Finance.

“Amr has remarkable insight into the challenges and opportunities at this critical time in the Middle East,” said Shant Mardirossian, NEF Board Chair. “His expertise will inform our support of local economic development, and other initiatives to build the capacity of individuals and communities in response to the Arab Spring.”

Mr. Nosseir has over 25 years of investment banking experience. Prior to joining Perella Weinberg Partners, he was Managing Director and Head of the Middle East Group in Morgan Stanley’s Investment Banking Division.

Mr. Nosseir received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Colgate University and a Masters of Business Administration in Finance from Columbia University.

He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Arab Bankers Association of North America. Previously he served on the International Advisory Board of the Middle East Institute, the International Advisory Board of the Cairo and Alexandria Stock Exchange, and the Board of Directors of the Egyptian American Business Association.
