Nina Bogosian Quigley

Chair

Ms. Bogosian Quigley comes from a career in London, England where she worked as a consultant for Harbridge Consulting Group and The Design Museum. On returning to the US, she suspended her for-pay career and focussed on raising her three daughters. During that time, she volunteered extensively in the school system and the community, including two years as a trustee for the Board of Education in the Briarcliff Manor Union Free School District, where she oversaw management and curriculum decisions as well as the development and implementation of a $53 million budget for 1,750 K-12 students. Ms. Bogosian Quigley has also served on the board of the Cyrus M. Quigley Foundation since its inception in 1993. Ms. Bogosian Quigley graduated with honors from Brown University, where she earned her BA in English Literature. She attended Columbia University School of Law, where she earned her JD, and most recently, New York University, where she earned a certificate in film producing. In her personal time, Ms. Bogosian Quigley, who is a second-generation Armenian-American, enjoys music, reading, skiing, and traveling with family and friends.

Rana Gillmon

Vice Chair

Ms. Gillmon is a Global Client Executive at Chubb, a global provider of insurance products, where she manages key client relationships, domestically and globally, in the North America Major Accounts Division. Prior to joining Chubb, Ms. Gillmon held key positions with Marsh, a global insurance broker and risk management firm, over a sixteen year period – first joining as a Global Property Broker for Risk Management clients where she handled both the advisory and global program coordination. Ms. Gillmon’s focus on multinational corporations and global programs led her to Dubai, where she headed the team for incoming multinational business and oversaw the placements and partnerships with local markets in the Gulf Cooperative Council (GCC) region. Returning to the U.S., Ms. Gillmon continued her career with Marsh and joined the Client Executive Practice, managing relationships for Global Risk Management clients across a range of industries – retail, real estate, manufacturing, financial services, and intergovernmental organizations. Ms. Gillmon has also served as a Portfolio Manager for Marsh’s Private Equity Mergers & Acquisitions Group in New York. Ms. Gillmon earned her B.A in International Relations from Mount Holyoke College and is currently pursuing an Executive Master’s in International Service and Global Security at American University.

Johnson Garrett

Secretary

Mr. Garrett is a great-grandson of Cleveland H. Dodge, who co-founded the Near East Foundation in 1915 and established a philanthropic foundation in 1917. He has worked as a digital media executive for 15 years, previously working at AOL, Viacom, Excite@Home, Ask Jeeves and most recently, IAC/InterActiveCorp. Mr. Garrett was a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a founding member of Network 20/20, a New York–based foreign policy group. He graduated with a B.A. from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from Columbia University.

Mona Eraiba

Treasurer

Ms. Eraiba is a Senior Vice President of the Trust Company of the West (TCW), which manages a broad range of value-added investment products for many of the largest corporate and public pension plans, financial institutions, endowments, and foundations in the U.S., as well as a substantial number of foreign investors. She has over 30 years of experience specializing in technology and healthcare, having been involved in a wide range of transactions for both money management and investment banking for technology companies. Before joining TCW, she founded Rosetta Group Research LLC, an independent technology research and advisory firm catering to the investment management industry. Ms. Eraiba began her Wall Street career with Lehman Brothers and then worked at Salomon Brothers before founding Advanced Technology Investments. Prior to joining the financial community, she worked as a chief engineer in the technology industry. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Arab Bankers Association of North America (ABANA) and Board Chairperson of iEARN-USA, the largest worldwide network of students, teachers, and schools. Born in Egypt, Ms. Eraiba received an engineering degree (B.S.E.E.) in electronics and computer science from Washington University and an M.B.A. from Columbia University.

Liz Aslanian Lorenzoni

Liz Aslanian Lorenzoni has over 15 years of sales and marketing experience, primarily in tech and media. Through her roles at organizations including Google, The Atlantic and LinkedIn, Liz has had the opportunity to solve business challenges for hundreds of clients across the private and public sectors. In her current position as Director of Enterprise Sales at LinkedIn within the Talent Solutions organization, Liz and her teams empower clients to leverage LinkedIn’s ecosystem to hire, develop and engage their employees.
 
Liz is a native New Yorker who spent 12 years in Chicago and now resides in Toronto with her husband and two young children. She completed her BA at Cornell University and her MBA at the Kellogg School of Management

Elias Habayeb

Mr. Habayeb is the Deputy Chief Financial Officer and Chief Accounting Officer of AIG as well as the Chief Financial Officer for AIG’s General Insurance business. Mr. Habayeb’s distinguished career in finance also includes his leadership of ILFC’s successful divestiture from AIG. As Chief Financial Officer, he led the preparation efforts that ultimately led to AerCap’s purchase of ILFC in May 2014. Prior to ILFC, Mr. Habayeb held various leadership positions at AIG, including Senior Vice President, Investments and Financial Services and Chief Financial Officer of AIG Financial Services Division, which included oversight of consumer finance, aircraft leasing, financial products, premium finance and commercial equipment finance. Before his tenure at AIG, Mr. Habayeb was a partner in Deloitte & Touche’s Capital Markets Group, where he was one of the firm’s leaders advising clients on derivatives and structured transactions. Mr. Habayeb graduated from Syracuse University with a B.S. in Accounting.

Jeff Habib

Mr. Habib is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Intercontinental Aircraft Group LLC (IAG), a global aircraft acquisition consulting and brokerage firm. Prior to co-founding IAG in 2012, Mr. Habib spent 17 years at a leading corporate aircraft manufacturer, where he held various positions of leadership, lastly as a Senior Vice President and corporate officer. Mr. Habib’s operational aviation experience includes eight years of active duty service as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps and Navy where he was designated as a naval aviator- he flew duties as a pilot with Southwest Airlines Co., and spent time as a demonstration pilot for an aircraft manufacturer. He holds an FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) license and numerous aircraft type ratings. Mr. Habib is a graduate of Rutgers University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science.

Linda K. Jacobs

Linda K. Jacobs is a New York-based scholar and author. She holds a Ph.D. in Near Eastern Archaeology/Anthropology and spent many years working on archaeological excavations and economic development projects in the Middle East. She is the author of Digging In: An American Archaeologist Uncovers the Real Iran (2012), Strangers in the West: The Syrian Colony of New York City, 1880-1900 (2015), Strangers No More: Syrians in the United States, 1880-1900 (2019), and Captivating Strangers: Early Arab Immigrants in the United States (2024), as well as a series of articles about the nineteenth-century Syrian colony in New York. Dr. Jacobs is committed to promoting Middle Eastern culture and knowledge in the United States, founding KalimahPress in 2011, establishing the Violet Jabara Charitable Trust, and sitting on the boards of the Near East Foundation, the Washington Street Historical Society, and the Moise Khayrallah Center for Lebanese Diaspora Studies. She has also served on the board of the American University of Beirut.

Haig Mardikian

Mr. Mardikian graduated from Trinity College (B.A.) and Harvard Business School (M.B.A.). He is the owner of Haig G. Mardikian Enterprises (real estate investments), and President/Director of Adiuvana-Invest, Inc. (real estate investments). He previously served as Chairman/director of The Forward Funds (a mutual fund company) and the Salient Mutual Funds. He served for many years as a trustee of Trinity College in Hartford, Conn. He presently serves as a trustee of the Herbert Hoover Foundation, the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library Association and is the Chairman of the William Saroyan Foundation. He previously served as the Board Chairman of The Foundation of City College of San Francisco, and as a member of the board of directors of the International House at the University of California at Berkeley. His father worked as a Scout Leader in the orphanages set up by Near East Relief.

Shant Mardirossian

Mr. Mardirossian has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Near East Foundation since 2002, was NEF’s Board Chair from 2007 to 2015, and now continues to serve as Chairman Emeritus. He is a Partner and the Chief Operating Officer of Kohlberg & Company, a middle-market private-equity firm, and serves on the board of directors for several companies controlled by Kohlberg & Co. Mr. Mardirossian was born in Lebanon of Armenian decent and immigrated to the United States with his parents in 1969. He is actively involved in international and Middle Eastern affairs. Mr. Mardirossian received a B.B.A. and an M.B.A. from the Lubin School of Business at Pace University. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Sebouh Nahabedian

Sebouh Nahabedian is a managing director in the Credit and Structured Solutions group at Francisco Partners. Prior to joining Francisco Partners, Sebouh spent over 22 years at Blackstone working in various leadership capacities across several of its businesses. Previously, Sebouh was a managing director and head of finance and operations for Blackstone Insurance Solutions and a Deputy COO for Blackstone Credit focused on business management and strategic planning. Before that, Mr. Nahabedian worked in the corporate finance group working on a variety of projects including Blackstone’s initial public offering in 2007. Mr. Nahabedian earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Villanova University and an MBA in finance from NYU’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business.

Emily Rosenberg

Emily Rosenberg is an experienced board member and leader in the nonprofit world. She has served on national and local boards. Her most recent post was Chair of the Board of the Museum of Quilts & Textiles in Silicon Valley, which she guided through the first two years of the pandemic. Ms. Rosenberg was a business intelligence specialist and conducted early research on some of today’s leading technologies, including cell phones and OCR. She is a graduate of American University in Washington, D.C. She lives in California.
