Atong plants seeds for her future

“I can comfortably provide for my family rather than wait for food distribution. The seeds and tools I bought from has helped me do proper weeding and maintenance. I’m thankful."
Atong

Atong returned with her family to her village Heh hec, Malual Baai Payam after being displaced.

For one-year Atong grappled to make ends meet and feed her children.  Through NEF’s programming, Atong was selected for a cash voucher to buy the seeds and farm tools of her choice from the Input Trade Fair.

The tools she purchased became very handy in weeding her fields and the ground nuts were a good source of nutrition for her and her family. Atong would also sell the surplus produce in the local markets to supplement her income. She feels she can now lead a dignified life and is proud to provide for her family.

Atong now inspires other women from her village to become self-sustaining small farmers and build their own livelihoods.
